High Levels of Antibiotic Resistance in Isolates From Diseased Livestock

چکیده

Overuse of antimicrobials in livestock health and production beyond therapeutic needs has been highlighted recent years as one the major risk factors for acceleration antimicrobial resistance (AMR) bacteria both humans animals. While there is an abundance reports on AMR clinical isolates from humans, information regarding patterns animals scarce. Hence, a situational analysis based veterinary diagnostic laboratory was performed to examine extent demonstrated by diseased food Between 2015 2017, 241 cases were received. Clinical specimens ruminants (cattle, goats sheep), non-ruminants (pigs chicken) received culture sensitivity testing. A total 701 recovered these specimens. From ruminants, Escherichia coli ( n = 77, 19.3%) predominated, followed Staphylococcus aureus 73, 18.3%). Antibiotic testing (AST) revealed that E. highest penicillin, streptomycin, neomycin (77–93%). In addition, S. highly resistant neomycin, streptomycin ampicillin (68–82%). More than 67% multi-drug (MDR) only 2.6% susceptible all tested antibiotics. Similarly, 65.6% MDR 5.5% non-ruminants, 301 recovered. 108, 35.9%) spp. 27, 9%) most frequent obtained. For , against amoxicillin, erythromycin, tetracycline, (95–100%). had high level trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, tetracycline gentamicin (80–100%). The levels 72.2 74.1%, respectively. Significantly higher observed among compared enrofloxacin, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole.

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: The resistance of gram-negative bacteria to antibiotics has become a serious problem, which imposes a significant increase in treatment costs. Klebsiella pneumoniae is an important nosocomial pathogen from the Enterobacteriaceae family. The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency and pattern of antibiotic resistance in K. pneumoniae strains isolat...

Antibiotic-resistance Patterns of Helicobacter pylori isolates Obtained from Patients in Kerman- 2009

Background & Aims: Based on serological studies the prevalence of Helicobacter Pylori infection in Iranian adults is up to 80%. Gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric adenocarcinoma are common clinical outcomes of this infection in Iran. Since antibiotic resistance patterns of Helicobacter pylori are different geographically, local studies are highly required. Method: From April to December 2009, ...

Antibiotic Resistance and Antibiotic Resistance Genes in Escherichia coli Isolates from Hospital Wastewater in Vietnam

The environmental spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria has been recognised as a growing public health threat for which hospitals play a significant role. The aims of this study were to investigate the prevalence of antibiotic resistance and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in Escherichia coli isolates from hospital wastewater in Vietnam. Wastewater samples before and after treatment were c...
